We’re currently located on the U.S. Naval Base in Rota, Spain; one hour North West of Gibraltar. Our student base is active duty military and civilians that reside on the naval station. If you are in the area and would like to visit/train at the academy, please feel free to contact us.

Roland Malone
Brown Belt - Head Instructor
Personal History Mr. Malone started training in Gracie/Brazilian jiu-jitsu while being stationed in Naval Hospital GTMO, Cuba in 1998. After the first class he was hooked. Then a year later he moved to San Diego, CA where he met Carlos Valente and trained there for 6 months. Mr. Malone would eventually leave the west coast the same year and head east to Naval Medical Center Bethesda, MD where for the remainder of his time trained in GJJ/BJJ for another 5 years until he departed to Rota, Spain in 2005. In 2006 Mr. Malone befriended Professor Pedro Sauer and has stayed loyal ever since.
Mr. Malone is currently a Respiratory Therapist in the U.S. Navy, and resides in the European theater. He is honored to represent one of Gracie jiu-jitsu’s most prestige professors and uphold the standards of the Pedro Sauer Gracie jiu-jitsu Association.
Certifications and Achievements Brown Belt 4th degree- Team Pedro Sauer Gracie jiu-jitsu Silver medalist-brown belt/Adult/Heavy division 3rd European Championships
Teaching Experience Mr. Malone currently teaches and is an instructor to civilians and active duty personnel of the U.S. Armed Forces; has over 10 years of Gracie jiu-jitsu experience and instruction. He is always willing to take the time needed for attention to detail with technique on and off the mat. His sincerity has earned him respect amongst his fellow peers and students.
